Moses basket

Anonymous
My mom just got me one for the yet-to-be-born baby and I was wondering what to do with it. Is there a stand? Does it go on the bed? Where do we put it?

I wouldnt want to keep it on the floor next to my bed for fear that I would accidentally step on it getting up at 3am.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

I just used it when my newborn napped. I carried it and put it down next to me. Be careful though - my babies grew out of it in no one - and they're not very sturdy.

You can purchase a stand for it and use it like a bassinet.

Most people I know just carry it to the room they are going to be in so that there is a place for the baby to sleep nearby.

i just got another moses basket for baby #2 who comes in 2 wwks! with #1, we put newborn in the basket in our bed between hubby and i. This worked for about 2-3 mos and it also works great while they are napping during the day and you want to move them into another room (i never liked my newborn out of my sight)...once they get head control and can roll, you are done with it, but again, i'll use this first few weeks/mos, then switch to co=sleeper...

We got a wonderful Moses basket and placed it inside the crib, so that ds would be able to sleep in something cozy and smaller, just get used to his crib. It worked fine. Today the basket holds stuffed animals of yesteryear in his room. Hard to believe my 5-year old was ever that little! Time will fly. Enjoy.
