What's the story with Janney as of late?

I heard it was going to undergo some construction, is that still slated to happen? Do they have a firm deadline in place?

TIA.

Not a current parent, we will be starting there next year. It is an addition as well as renovating the existing structure. My understanding is they are supposed to break ground shortly after the new year and the plan is that it will be completed by the end of the 2010/2011 school year. The children will "swing in place," which means school will continue on Janney premises during the addition/renovation.

Current parent here, can confirm what 21:42 poster wrote. There is a planned meeting sometime in December where all the plans for the construction will be laid out. I am skeptical about the timeline and that the kids will "swing in place", but we will see. (fingers crossed).

Also, the library construction will take over use of part of the field until the library is completed next December. I spoke to the construction manager and he seemed very confident that they will finish the library on time and with minimal disruption to the school. Like PP, fingers crossed that this all happens and we'll have a new library and school!

The library has a construction manager at risk contract so there's a powerful incentive for on-time completion. (And they had spec'ed that building down to the last soap dispenser, so the planning seemed pretty thorough.)
