| My 6th grader came home yesterday with a list of courses for next year, and there have been changes since registration. I approve of the changes, which are mainly things we requested but were previously denied (like Global Humanities), but I found it odd that this form letter was how they let us know. Is this normal that they’d make a change and this is how we’d be notified? |
| Yes, I think that's pretty standard. It probably means there were additional sections opened up, so there was a seat for your child. But also keep in mind nothing's set in stone yet. |
| What school? |
|
How else would you be notified?
One other thing that can happen is that when class schedules get passed out, you find out about changes. |
I guess I thought they might notify us personally, since it is something we had discussed. This was more of a form letter everyone got listing course selections for next year. I almost missed the changes. |
As in, it was not a letter that said “we have made a change...” |
+1 it means they didn't forget your request. OP I have worked in a HS and scheduling is incredibly complicated. Given school staffing, budgets and time constraints I am in awe of how it is done. I can understand the school not sending additional, individual communication on top of the schedules, which can speak for themselves. |
