Christmas in NYC - Activities?

Anonymous

We are spending Christmas in NYC this year -- a few extended family plus our 16 month old DD.

I am putting together 5 days of low key activities for the gang and would appreciate any ideas -- restaurants, museums, attractions....

I am somewhat familiar with the big NYC attractions and museums but if anyone has some cool ideas for little known or out of the way things that would be great!

TIA!!

I don't know if you're into history, but I liked visiting the Tenement Museum...showed the way the lower East Side (I think) apartments used to look in the early 1900s. But obviously, the 16 month old won't get much out of that one. Still, it's a little known thing to do.

For everyone: Central Park Zoo and playgrounds; Big Apple Circus. For kids to age 8: Children's Museum of Manhattan -- W. 83rd, btw B'way and Amsterdam Ave.
