Where to go for Hysterosalpingogram

Anonymous
I’m going to Dominion Fertility and really need a recommendation for where to go to get my HSG test done. Don’t really want to do a blind pick and end up having a horrible experience. Any suggestions?

Before this most recent round, mine was always done at SG. This time, my regular OB did it. I go to Bloom OBGYN.

Oh and it was a LOT cheaper than SG doing it...

I went to Washington Radiology near GW hospital in Foggy Bottom for mine in 2017. I had a good experience there, aside from the procedure itself being uncomfortable. I would go back there if I had to have it again.

Thank you both!

Capital women’s care did mine, but only offered extra strength Tylenol afterwards. Nothing in advance. Most painful test ever.

I hear people talk about the HSG being painful all the time. I didn't have any pain at all, I've had pap smears more uncomfortable than it. I think it just depends on your personal anatomy. I guess I just thought I'd mention that so OP doesn't get freaked out.

+1
I've had two and except for a little pinch at the start I've never had any pain. My first was at SGF and the other one at Kaiser.

Did mine at Washington Radiology (with my RE from Columbia Fertility). Did not feel a thing. Like others have said, it probably depends on anatomy (rather than pain tolerance).

Had one at Washington radiology and another with capital women’s care. Washington radiology told me to take double Advil an hour before, so I did both times. It was uncomfortable but not painful.

Thank you all so much for the feedback. Washington Radiology was originally suggested by Dominion bc there’s a location close to my work. But I saw so many negative reviews I wasn’t sure about whether or not to go there. I definitely feel a bit better about it.

As for the pain, I’ve had a hysteroscopy and 9 fibroids removed, lol I’ll think I’ll survive. So sorry your experience was a painful one.

Which location did you go to?

I was warned of pain before having it done and had no pain during or after...

I wish I had known about this forum when I did fertility treatment 2012-2015, none of which worked and the marriage ended in divorce, but this would have been nice for the support.

I’m so sorry.
