What’s Better?

Saying hello to new teammates and parents at first meeting for new team or saying bye to total toxic parents who are leaving for another club? Used to think it was the former, but this season is a little different, and the best part is that the parents, who are truly awful, and the kid, who is not in the top half of the roster, are going to our chief rival. Addition by subtraction for us. We all know parents at the other club but kept our mouths shut until it was official.

This thread is the answer to that other thread that had the question “how do you know you are spending too much time on youth soccer?”

Some parents don't get it: You're not part of the team.
Go find something in your life where you can feel like you are part of a team; your kid's team isn't it. Go and watch the games, chat with some of the parents if you want, hell flirt if you feel you need the attention, but leave it at that. Such a pathetic thing to see these 'divided' sidelines where parents have issues with each other. Grow the hell up.

Op is weird. I have never been that emotionally invested. I actually try to sit away from other parents. I’m completely friendly and cordial—but steer clear for the most part. My social life is outside of soccer.

I always try to ask the new parents a question. Do you ever read or post on soccer message boards? If they say yes I do. I Know the extent of our friendship will be a simple waive at games for the entire season.

Ummmm....wait...what??? You do realize you are both reading and posting on a soccer message board right? This board isn't about pottery making. Or you want to be the only one who does that?

player is moved to a different team within the club at the end of the season = immediate quit?

It depends. If you feel that the move is in the best interests of the player, you stay with the club. Otherwise, you should look for better opportunities elsewhere.
