Preventing Summer Slide in Math (specifically between 4/5 and 5/6)

Anonymous
My current 4th grader has done well in Math 4/5 but for the first time I am a little worried about "summer slide," as my understanding is that they will pick right back up where they left off this fall. Traditionally, I haven't worried too much, as I figure a summer of reading and various stimulating summer camps is enough.

What tools/books/programs would you suggest if my goal is to just make sure he doesn't lose what he has over the summer, rather than trying to accelerate?

Go to amazon and search “fifth grade math workbook.” Buy one that looks good and have your kid do like 5-10 pages a week.

Just have DC "play" around with 4th & 5th grade content ~ 20 min per day. They get a surprising amount done.
