How can I improve my grammar ?..

Anonymous
I need to brush up on grammar.

I’ve been told by more than one person, I need to work on it.

My goal is to apply to graduate school by next year. Help please.

*should I take an in person class or on line*?

I thought about using grammarly but I wasn’t sure.

Is there a particular aspect to your grammar you need to improve?

There are many grammar books on Amazon (you may want to try your public library). Do you read very much? I think reading in general is very helpful. I see the difference in myself and DH, I'm a voracious reader and good with grammar. DH barely reads more than he needs to and well, I have to do a lot of editing for him.

I haven't tried on-line grammar sites, but that's certainly a good idea. I was helping DD with her homework recently and she was using an online grammar quiz through her school. I liked it, it corrected mistakes and showed the grammar rules for those questions.

You can buy workbooks for elementary/middle school age that have pages that you edit and from that you can build a foundation. One of the main things to learn about is how to use a comma (e.g. never split a subject from it's corresponding verb with a comma). Have fun! https://www.amazon.com/s?k=editing+workbook&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
Blue Book and Grammar Tune-Up might be for adults.
