So what would be the implications? Possible cure? MO Pills for gamers?

It is interesting how they boiled it down to the very essence and this should help parents to identify the problem easier.

Makes sense. There's gambling addiction, other types of addiction. Also gaming disorder.

It's only a disorder because lazy parents allow kids to play games constantly. It's easier than talking or reading with their children.

Said someone who has never patented a mentally ill child. It’s so easy to blame the parents.

Do you deny the existence of gambling addiction too? Just lazy adults who allow themselves to gamble all the time, right?

Well, I definitely believe in screen addiction.

I have a DS12 and it's extremely difficult to keep him off the screens or complying with our rules, unless we completely ban all screens from the house--we would do that, except the school, in its wisdom, has seen fit to issue iPads to all of the students.

Once kids hit MS and HS it's much more difficult to control things- a lot of parents are dealing screen time and gaming problems from their kids.

Oh boy yet another thing for overly anxious/attention- seeking parents to look at when diagnosis shopping.

Because environment has zero effects on the development of mental illness.

Give me a break, PP! Environment matters.

Maybe you should start acting like a parent and be the one on charge of your house. If you do not slow game playing, it will cease.

I also don't believe that alcohol is a disease
Gambling, drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, using illegal drugs are ALL CHOICES.

Everything is a choice. That's not a helpful way to look at things.

Also, I hope you don't know anyone with any mental or physical illness. Because your worldview is unkind.
