Where to get shorts for a thin 5 year old girl

| My daughter is 5.5 but only like 30% for weight and slightly higher for height. In tops and dresses she's kind of in between a 4T and 5T. For pants she mostly wears leggings because they fit better in the waist but still have enough length. I'm having the hardest time finding her shorts. I thought the ones I bought her last summer that were too big would fit now but the pair of 4T shorts she just put on keep falling down. Unless they have an elastic (and tight elastic) waist even 4T is too big but 3T is too short. Any suggestions for where to find her shorts that will actually fit? |

I've also had luck at the children's place for my super skinny daughter. They usually offer a few styles of stretchy shorts, some are very short but others have good length. |

Target. Cat and Jack has shorts with adjustable waistbands. 3.5yo DD is 30% height and only 5% weight, and they've been a lifesaver for us!
On occasion, I can find shorts/pants with adjustable waists at Carters and OshKosh, too. But Target carries tons of them. |

Oh, and mine is 7, but we’ve had this ongoing since she grew out of comfy leggings (100% of the time).
A recent brand that worked was Levi’s slim/skinny shorts, on amazon. She liked them more than children’s place bc they are soft. Is she old enough to try belts too? Get the smallest set from target, and you’re good. |

| Old Navy has some shorts with the adjustable tabs inside. I think the XS girls would be a size 4. |

| I’d try 4t shorts at jcrew (crewcuts). The classic ones that they offer in a bunch of colors. They have the button that you can loosen or tighten.... |

| Target has Capri shorts and bike short that are legging-sequel and they are the only shorts/capris that will stay on my 3yo! |
