that's not an IPhone or IPod? I would like to get something for my DD (11) because she loves music, but I don't want to get her a phone or anything with access to Internet (not quite yet). Do such things even exist these days? What the Walkman of today?
Scandisk makes an MP3 player with a radio. $30 works great. Our kid loves his.
CD player? Phonograph? Maybe the OP can be more specific about the requirements--price, portability, format, etc.
How/where will she buy her music?
Not portable but my son had an echo spot and amazon music unlimited.
You can use an iPod without giving her internet access.
I always listen to music on my iPhone but you really want to hear the sound of Billie Eilish piano chords or other musicians, home devices are better.
Echo Spot for my kid. It’s great for getting rid of “but I need my phone playlist to fall asleep” argument.
How does the Echo Spot work? I am debating between that and an IPod that I control with screen time rules.

Just got an ipod shuffle type mp3 player. You can still get on one ebay or get something similar to the shuffle or nano like:
https://www.amazon.com/Player-Hliwoynes-Classic-Digital-16GB-Blue-01-lx/dp/B078SPSB1G/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=ipod+shuffle&qid=1572726588&s=electronics&sr=1-9 I wouldn't get an amazon echo or other device that is listening to your kid though. Just a normal mp3 player is good. I like the kinds that are made for runners. |
Can kids use Spotify with mp3 players?
No. MP3 is very outdated. Get an Echo Dot, then use Spotify. A refurbished one is super affordable. |
