Travel Soccer - how much does it cost per month on average?

Absolutely depends on the team. Anywhere from $1200-3K a year.

A couple years ago, we paid about $2,400 for the year. That included two seasons, 3-4 tournaments, uniforms and team equipment fees. This was in Arlington at that age range.

Thanks for the information. Would you happen to know any league in Fairfax City/Fairfax Corner area for 5-7 year old boys for rec purposes? It's mostly for fun/burn off their energies, non competitively.

Then you want a rec league, not a travel league. WAY cheaper.

For rec- go with whatever league is most convenient- BRYC, SYC, SYA, FPYC, Alexandria, PWSI- they are all about $90 per season for rec.

$1900 for 2 seasons no tournaments.

$2,200 per year for U11, four tournaments. DH and I calculated it, and if you consider the number of practices and games, and the amount of practice, game, and warm-up time, it winds up being around $9 per hour, which isn't that bad.
