Nothing to add, except to say it's not only moms who leak. I was feeling all old, used up and worn down from 4 deliveries and asked my 46 y/o sister who never had kids if she had the same issues when she sneezes, jogs, exercises, etc. She does, so it's an age issue too. Makes me feel like it's less mileage on me, anyway.

Physical therapy can really help. A urogynecologist can provide a referral. National Rehab Hospital has several physical therapists specializing in women's health. It sucks, but can improve with work and time. If PT doesn't get you to where you need to be, surgery is an option. As others have said, the course of treatment depends on the nature of the problem. If it is stress incontinence, then PT can help. If it is something more integral, then perhaps surgery is the best hope. Good luck.

When I expressed concern over the effects of my second baby on down yonder, my OB (Sarafian at Foxhall) told me there are these small weights that you can use to increase strength in that area. Apparently they are balls that you insert and hold in for a certain period of time (sort of enforced Kegels, or weighted Kegels). I haven't gone that route yet, since I have so many other issues and areas to resurrect....

So do you walk around and say - dust - while you do these weighted kegels?
