I have an iPhone 8 and got a random notice today that my iCloud storage is full. What does this always happen to me when a new version is about to come out? I’m past the point of needing to get a new phone every 2 years. Anyone else familiar with this ? |

I just delete videos. |
I keep getting this message too! I don't keep many photos or videos on my phone. |
I think they are about to launch the new iPhone. But I refuse to pay for the extra storage or a new phone |
Icloud storage is not the same as the storage on your physical phone. Just upgrade your iCloud storage- plans are $1 or $3 per month last I checked. |
ICloud storage has nothing to do with the age of the phone or whether a new one is coming out. There is absolutely no connection. Apple only gives you 5GB of space for free. That is pretty easy to fill up with photos and videos. You can upgrade to 50GB a month for a mere $0.99 a month, which is a no brainer. But, if you can't afford $12 a year, you have a couple of options:
1) turn off the iCloud photo library so photos and videos are only stored on your phone (just don't blame Apple when you break your phone and lose all of your photos); or 2) back up your photos and videos to a computer and delete them from your phone. |
I just deleted a bunch of old emails and photos. Seems to be doing the trick. |
NP - how do you find out what is being stored in iCloud, and how can you delete it there? |
If you delete material from your phone, it was also be deleted from iCloud. However, if you want to check, you can sign into iCloud from a computer: www.icloud.com using your Apple ID and see what's there. |
I upgraded my iCloud storage for .99 a month. Haven’t had a problem since. I also like that you can share the 50GB with another iPhone. |
