| Curious. Mine seem to think it’s my job. Trying to re-train them! |
| Yes, one does all the loading and the other all of the unloading of the dishes. Haven't touched a dish in months! Pots and pans are adults. |
|
Trained them at a young age, but they sometimes forget, unless at someone else's house. I gently remind them which is the sink and dish washer.
|
| Yes, 10 and 13 yr olds. Sometimes the 10 yr old forgets, so I remind them. They also unpack their lunches and put them in hot soapy water, and fold/put away their own laundry. If they are home when I am doing laundry, then put their dirty laundry in the basket. The have other chores at home. |
| They do rinse and or put water in the bowls, but then leave them for us to clean and/or put in the dishwasher. |
| rinse and put in dishwasher. Unloading the dishwasher is another story. |
| One unloads and the other washes . |
+1 |
Mine seem to think that its my 'hobby' to clean up after them. Since I work so hard all day, who are they to deny me a relaxing evening of dishes, cooking and laundry then just before bed, more dishes. They are so considerate. |
| Of course. She also does her own laundry. If I'm available, I help fold, but she knows it's her job. |
| Yes, 9 and 11. I sometimes have to remind them, but they’re good about it for the most part now. I used to have to remind them every single time for YEARS |
| Yes both my boys do. 17 and 21. And have for 10 years? They also rotate emptying the dishwasher or sometimes they’ll split upper and lower rack. They try with some of the hand wash dishes/pots but I usually have to redo them. But they do try. |
| Negative. |
| Ugh. I wish. Workin' on it,but I'll admit, it's a struggle. Chances of happening w/o reminder -- 1%, exponentially increases w/ amount of parental harassmant. |
Are you telling me that your 21 year old can't hand wash a pot? What does he do when he is at school? |
