| My kid's friend introduced him to moomoo.io and he wants to play all the time. Aside from the fact that I don't want him in front of a computer all the time, I don't know anything about this game. It seems like he can communicate with other players which I'm not crazy about. But maybe it's harmless? Seems like it's about building a farm and while there are some battles/killing, the graphics seem pretty rudimentary. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this game. |
| There are a ton of .io games. The games are all harmless. The only thing of concern may be they can chat with others on the server. Some do use bad language occasionally. These games are very popular among the elementary set. It will be difficult to completely avoid exposures to the .io games. |

You've got a long way to go, OP, if you think .io games are of concern. There are kids playing Fortnite in elementary. |
If you read the original post, I know nothing about .io games and have no idea of whether they are of concern or not. That's why I asked. I have heard about Fortnite and Minecraft but had never heard of moomoo.io until my kid came home from his buddy's talking about it and there's not much information out there. Trying to do my due diligence instead of letting him have free rein. Glad to hear they are harmless. I am not crazy about him being able to chat with randoms but trying to instill some sense of "stranger danger" and critical thinking... I guess that's all I can do. |
| My kid plays the io games and knows he is not to “talk” to anyone on the computer (and he follows it). They are harmless that way I agree as I’ve watched him play. |
Stay vigilant! |
| Oh my. Any website can buy “.io” these days, it is not a domain for a type of game. Please do your research before letting your kids on. |
| Its the game with tons of hackers saying slurs in the chat and building "pinwheels" |
| You can look up some games on Common Sense Media, not sure about that one, but it's a great resource in general to see reviews. |
| Why don't you try playing it yourself, OP? If your kid wanted to go play with friends you've never met at a playground you've never been at before, you would probably hang around and watch the first few times, right? Online games are the same. |
+1 Also, start by watching a video of game play if you can. |
i think you should try it before put it out for possible chance to connect with your children |

| Make sure your kid stays out of the chat for this and any .io game. I could not believe the amount of n-words and other truly disgusting messages. |
| for some people this is silly MooMoo.io is not a bad game its like a life game and its not like its gta5 or fortnite that kids are not allowed to be playing but its just the way people act like its bad or its not safe it is its harmless fun for kids. |
