Westland, Takoma (non magnet) or the Middle School Magnet consortium?

We're moving to MC this summer with a sixth grader, and looking at test scores, demographics, commute times and housing prices, these seem like our best options. Any thoughts on the differences between the schools?

One thing to note is that because we'd be arriving after the deadline to apply to Argyle/Loiderman/Parkland we'd be assigned to the school MCPS chooses out of the three -- so if there's one of the 3 that we wouldn't want that would probably rule out the whole neighborhood.

Loiderman is artsy and musical. I believe Parkland is aerospace, although maybe that's Argyle. In any case, these would appeal to very different kids. So it's worth investigating!
