Post-menopausal dreams about pregnancy or childbirth

Anonymous
I’m okay about my family size and the youngest is in that sweet spot in terms of parenting. DH and I will miss her in 5 years, but we are going to enjoy the empty nest. So why are so many of my dreams about pregnancy and childbirth?

OK, I thought it was just me.

Here's my guess: it's seeing the experience come to an end (or a transition, anyway), and I think I'll miss it. And maybe there are things I would have done differently in hindsight? Also, it's a time of renewal in a way, our roles changing.

Get a puppy. They are like babies. You will have something to hang on to once a kid flies away..

I don’t even like dogs. Too needy. A puppy would be a waking nightmare.

We’re very happy with our family size. I love the stage my youngest is in. We left her at home 6-11 on Friday to have dinner with friends. I don’t want to go back.

But I do think my body is telling me something hormonal. Last night, I dreamt I was producing copious amounts of colostrum, but there was no baby in sight or earshot.

What do pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding symbolize?
