When is Arlington rec soccer sign up for fall?

Anonymous
We are moving to Arlington and DS would like to play soccer on his school's rec team (I met a parent at his future school a while ago who said the school has rec soccer teams). I checked the Arlington Soccer Assoc website but did not see a sign up option for fall rec soccer. Is sign up not available yet? Do we need to try to get in touch with whoever will be coaching the rec team for his school or do we just need to keep checking that site for sign up? Thanks!!!

Last year registration opened by early July.

Also, guaranteed spot on a team closed July 30. I don’t recall when registration opened specifically but had an email that registration was open as of July 3. If I were you I would keep an eye on the website and sign up in July.

If your son is good, keep an eye out for Arlington's ADP program - between travel and Rec - good players, and you have to try out - but all games are in Arlington, and the cost is pretty cheap, and much better competition than Rec, and often is organized around schools.

yes to the PP who said July.

As a new player, you don't necessarily need to worry about the return-to-team deadline unless you find out about a specific team on which your son wants to play. generally they are assigned by school, but if there are open spots, they can be filled by any kid in the grade. Our team started out 100% kids from our school and now we have about 1/3 of the team filled with outside kids who played us and liked our coach and requested us the next year.

And yes, if he's good, ADP tryouts are happening soon. We've done Rec, ADP and Travel and ADP is good for kids who are talented rec players but want more training and a generally slightly higher level of competition. (at about 1/4th the cost of travel.)

There is also a deadline for a guaranteed spot on a team, meaning any team.

Hi OP, if you’re still reading. ASA rec soccer registration just opened up. Guaranteed placement on a team if you sign up by July 29.

Nice, does the registration come with the right to use the clubhouse and the pool?

^^^why confuse someone moving to the area?

even if your child is not returning to a team, it is worthwhile to sign up early b/c if that particular school-based team is close to full, they will add kids (after the return to team deadline) based upon the date they registered. But agree with other people who state that at the older ages, the school focus tends to diminish as kids quit and/or team increases with full field game.
