New boyfriend overly close to girlfriend’s daughters?

Anonymous
My friend has been dating this guy for about 3 months. Lately he’s started posting pictures of them together with her daughters, tagging her. But more recently, he’s started posting pictures of just the girls, almost like they are his, stuff like “A+ math test. Proud of this girl”, “Finally no training wheels! Go Larla!” They are 3 and 6.

The girls have a dad who is very much in their life.

It just comes across as odd to me. A little creepy even? Three months and already so bonded to her daughters? Red flag or do you think he’s doing it for my friend’s benefit?

Impossible to say. Every situation is different. Most people would agree that getting close to someone's kids after 3 mos of dating doesn't show great judgement on any of the adult's part.

You just looking for any reason to keep your friend single and dependent on your friendship aren't you?

To be fair to the op, I think it’s concerning on its face. Three months is a very short period of time, and most of my single parent friends would not have introduced a new bf/gf to their kids that early.

^^100%

Signed,
A dad

Concerning. Weird. What’s the rush, and why is he injecting himself like that? (And why is she letting him?)

My kids would never have met someone that early. However, after DH and I had dated about a year and he’d met my kids, he became really interested in how they were doing in school and any other things (health issues, sports, etc).

Well, ladies, this is why you don’t put photos of your kids in your OLD profile - it attracts creepy weirdos.

If I were your friend’s dad, I’d be outraged about this.

When I was in HS, I knew several girls who were harassed or molested by their step-dads.

Yup I would be weirded out too. Keep an eye on it OP.

He’s a pedo - clearly more interested in the daughters. Using Mom to get access to the kids. Hopefully she’s not an idiot and will figure that out.

is his first name Matt?

My cousin falls madly in love in 12 minutes and seems to easily find single moms who also fall madly in love in the same amount of time. He becomes insta dad over and over.

Any guy who doesn't have kids but somehow ends up with a single mom is a loser.
