Is there a point to getting one shot for ages 2 and 4?

I am on the fence about vaccinating. I won't do the mist for either (not recommended for one of them).
I also prefer mercury-free. Aside from the fact that boosters may not be available, if I decide not to do the boosters for whatever reason, is it pointless for me to do the first?

It's not pointless; they will still get some immunity from the first dose.

I'm in Fairfax County and I feel like it's pretty easy to get the shot now; nothing like a month ago. With that said, I feel like you'll have no problem getting the booster. My son's preschool is even giving shots next week (to students, parents, siblings, grandparents)!
