Wondering when Bethesda offers ACTUALLY go out- their tryout nights are a week apart.
They have this listed on their website: "BSC Parents: All decisions on 2019/2020 tryouts will be announced on June 6th. No decisions will be announced prior to that date." That doesnt seem accurate! |
| that is a good thing. no distraction for remaining games and memorial day tournament. |
| They usually give offers to the top team before that...like after the first nigh of tryouts. |
| Correct. Offers usually go out shortly after 2nd tryout. |
What does "Announced" mean, is that different than offering up spots and waiting to announce the full rosters? |
ah, good point! |
I agree, it would be a good thing if it was a mandated, enforced, and followed act by all clubs in the area. But if only one club is doing it, it actually cause even more strife. Actually all tryouts should be mandated to be held in June. |
| We were at a tryout last week for the boys rising U11 age group. The age group director noted that he planned to get all the offers for his group done by Memorial Day. It may be that he forwards them to BSC administrators to send out though, in which case they would presumably control the timing. |
| The DA has basically already been decided. Tryouts are for most of the other sides. DA kids in our age group didn't even attend tryouts. |
| Has anyone received an ECNL offer yet-first tryouts were this past week? |
| A lot of the coaches at Bethesda don’t know what the admin I had decided to do until after the admin announce it to parents. Waiting on team placement announcements will help reduce strife on existing BSC teams. I think it is a good move and applaud Bethesda for taking this step, even if their communication with their own coaches continues to be poor. |
yes, offers from coaches were sent via email, and then the link to the portal to accept and pay. |
For the girls' ECNL? So if a tryout is still scheduled for tomorrow, it's for the remaining girls (and the ECNL offerees may not even attend)? Just want to set the stage for DD (who, admittedly, never really had a shot at ECNL anyway). |
correct- and the ECNL girls will still be at the 2nd night of tryouts, and i suspect thats in case a random girl or two come in (or the existing players on the B and C teams) and they can see their baseline playing with the ECNL girls. |
| Did ECNL 2 offers go out yet? |
