Yes. The proficiency test is required for 2nd and above.

some parents have posted that their kids in first grade were rejected. So there is proficiency test for 1st grade as well?

I'm guessing the first grade rejects are "Spanish-speaking" kids who couldn't actually "make Spanish come out of their mouths."

If you are applying for an OOB, Spanish dominant seat - there is always a proficiency test.

Students must be "at or near grade level" in Spanish after 1st grade. This applies to all Whole School dual-language models. Strand Schools have an English-only option as well as dual-language.

Nope. I know 2 other families who applied for different grades. None of us have gotten in.
