Buying my first iPhone, iPhone 7 or bigger screen?

Buying my first iPhone. Ok without the X but is the screen on the 7 big enough to watch Netflix etc. or should I get one with a bigger screen? Is there much difference between the 7 and 8? And will the 7 be supported for long? I would like to get 2 years out of the phone.
