Even 50 years later the co-op apartments are going for extremely high prices and high HOA fees.

| The building is appalling in terms of aesthetics and maintenance drama. I don’t get it at all. |
| I work right there. The only appeal that I can see is the close proximity to work for well to do State Department staff and Saudi diplomats. The plaza it’s shops are so dated. |
Coops don't have HOA fees. |
PP again. Come to think of it, it IS in a great location. It’s an easy walk to Georgetown and Foggy Bottom Metro. Just steps from Rock Creek Pkwy and 66, with 395/GW Pkwy and Rte 50. Walking distance to the K st corridor and the Mall. Recently sold units have gone for less. |
| I think it offers a relatively seamless transition to the next level (death). A lot of people believe that the afterlife will be very much like the Watergate. |
Well, the unit listed has a $4,860/mo monthly fee - so what do you call that? https://www.compass.com/listing/232553117969836721/view |
| Must be the river views. |
| Beautiful views, great location, history. |
Not PP but those include real estate taxes and utilities. |

It's so ugly - brutalist epoch.
An acquaintance was living there years ago, and the board was considering replacing chairs in hallways. Each chair cost $500. |
And also payments on the unit's portion of the underlying corporate mortgage, which is deducted from the sale price. |
o.o Are the chairs made of marble or something? |
Did they move it? I'm seriously asking because that is not a great location. Only people from the burbs would think that the base of Foggy Bottom and a brutal walk down K street/Whitehurst is a great location. There's nothing there folks. P.S. If you don't think Georgetown is dead you aren't paying attention. And while the GW Whole Foods is lovely and all, the interesting parts of Foggy Bottom are the ones closest to Dupont. |
That's what I was thinking this entire thread! It's located into two of the dreariest areas of D.C. and aren't seeing any comprehensive improvements anytime soon. |
