Grown into a lovely young man

Anonymous
I just want to say that I had a lovely time picking my kid up at school. I got to meet his closest friend and spend some good quality time with my son. He had a great year and has matured so much.

I hope all of you have had similar homecomings and wish everyone a low-stress summer with your college kids.

Well Jeez that’s like impossible to snark on. That’s not how it’s done here, OP! But hey, nice story. Thanks for sharing.

I love you both. Have an awesome summer! (And, yeah, when they go away to college, they often return with greater maturity. Karma, right?)

This is a great message. All I see on this site are people complaining. (Oh no I just complained just now by saying that!)

Seriously, this is heartwarming to hear, and I wish you a great summer and many future similar experiences!

Hey All --

OP here. Thanks for all the lovely responses. Wishing you the same to all of you next summer (or this summer, or any summer).

I look forward to feeling two summers from now, as I pick up my DC from her college, the way you are feeling now. Parenting is so awesome!

Awesome once it's over, I guess. I've got 20 years to look forward to. Thanks for showing us the light at the end of the tunnel.

It is never over.

a 20 year old needs different things, but they still need things from parents. But there is light. I completely don't miss the crap part of having a younger kid.
