I thought she looked great!

She's always looked great in eveningwear and suits. It's the casual side that causes problems.

Very nice.

I think she's georgeous and she looked hot in that dress. But I don't think it was appropriate. She upstaged her guests and it was too sexy. I always think she looks beautiful and stylish, but I often think she looks inappropriate. It bums me out because I love her.

She looked great in the dress...

but i agree it was very inappropriate. She doesn't seem to have any idea how to dress for formal political events...it's not an evening out at the symphony.

She sticks out badly compared to the more conservative dress of the others. Not saying she had to be dressed as conservatively, but certainly not in such a stark contrast. Sexy has its place...but not at that type of event, imo.

Oh please. She's young and gorgeous and was approriately covered. She looked amazing and better, imo, than more recent conservatively dressed first ladies.

I don't understand. Would you prefer Ms. Obama wear something that is more akin to a burlap sap simply because that is what the other "more" conservative dress women wear. When did it become inappropriate to bear your shoulders. She had a wrap. Jeez, this is 2010, not 1960. Nancy Reagan use to wear the same type of attire to such events and there was never a whisper. Is it because Ms. Reagan was a very petite woman. I don't know, but the double standard stinks. Ms. Obama looked fine and I wish I had the back and shoulders she have.

Hey, way to dis the prime minister's wife. While Mrs. Obama looked beautiful, I do think it would have been nice if she had not (literally) so outshone her guest.

I thought she looked great but she was showing too much skin appropriate to the Indian guests. Protocol says that you should defer to the customs of whom you are hosting. It is about showing respect to your visitors.

In India, they do keep more covered. Afterall, the White House addressed the guests' vegetarian needs and even used symbolic carpets to honor them. Should have done the same with the clothing.

Would have been a great dress for most of the world except for those countries where women cover up. If you view the Indian women in attendance, they do have their shoulders covered. Great dress, wrong occasion.

And not to be sexist, did anyone notice that Tim Geithner wore a suit and tie instead of black tie? Someone should have educated him especially since his wife wore a long gown.

One of the few outfits I love from Mrs Obama. Contrary to many people, I didn't think she had much dress sense, but this cut and color really looks good on her! Of course the extreme contrast with the PM and his wife's more somber colors is unfortunate, but neither she nor her guests knew that beforehand, so no blame.
