Patrol Picnic

What is it like? Are there organized games and activities or is it more like a huge unorganized recess? Also, do kids stay with their schools.

There are rides to go on and other things to do, like movies.

I heard there is a dance fight in the alley.

Just let your kid be a kid.

Will probably opt out. Don't need DD in a big zoo like atmosphere for an afternoon when she could be in class.

The patrol picnic is so much fun! A great reward for all the work your kids did all year. Don’t overthink this.

Don't WANT, you mean.

What are you worried about?

OP here- thanks all. My son is HFA so just trying to figure out if he'll be able to navigate it and enjoy it or if there will be too much chaos .Recess is his least favorite time of the day, lol!

There's rides and a dj. My daughter went yesterday. Even with the bad weather, she still had fun.

What do you mean in class? Something like 80% of my kid's grade are patrols. The kids who aren't will not be learning but watching movies etc,

They still do a patrol picnic? That's so great! I still remember mine... in 1977. Do they still have it at the Gaithersburg Fairground?

Bad parent alert.

I've had two kids go over the years. They both said it was boring--long lines, not many rides. I wasn't excited about the lack of supervision (my assumption, but I"ve never been in person) but it was fine.

These are 10-11-year-olds who are considered responsible enough to be patrols. They don't need constant supervision.
