Has anyone read the Post article in the education section about private school applications dropping this year. It is partly due to high tuition, and part demographics. |
I found some of the comments in this article to be truly annoying, especially the remarks made by the head of the DC Area Independent Schools Association. He talked like it's all a big marketing game and the purpose is to see how high they can go with tuition rates. ("It's always been an elastic market!!" Whoopee!)
This article makes me think that some parents may actually be coming to their senses, putting a foot down and saying "let's stop the madness." I'm sorry, but there is not a child on this planet (including my own two, whom I love more than life itself) who merits a $30,000 "kindergarten education." And yes, we're playing the waiting game too, on private schools for next year. |
