I know it’s 6 months away - but we will need to reserve our venue in advance. DD has her birthday on Halloween. There are so many things going on that week, I want to make sure she actually gets kids at her party.
Would you do it before (26th/27) or after (nov 2/3). Last year we did a big Halloween thing. It was fun but way too much work. I want a nice and easy venue like an indoor play thing, little gym etc. |
If it’s not Halloween themed, it honestly wouldn’t make any difference to me. And actually even if it were
Halloween themed I wouldn’t think twice about either date. I think you’re overthinking this. |
How old? If you’re going to have kids wear their costumes, then do it the weekend after. Otherwise, I think either weekend is fine. Maybe afterward so she has it to look forward to instead of it getting lost in the excitement about Halloween. |
After
Lots of people will have activities and pumpkin patch week before. |
My thought as well. The weekend after will be freed up compared to the weekend before. |
Definitely after. Gets all the Halloween stuff out of the way. And you are not overthinking. If I’m going to pay hundreds of dollars for a venue, I want the people to come! |
+1 Have it after. No question. |
After. My child also has a Halloween birthday. It’s hard to plan. One thing to consider is that the week after APS has Tuesday off. So, if that’s where you are, then lots of people might make it a 4 day weekend and do a fall break. |
Also you can use the goody bags to get rid of a lot of left over candy! |
Agree |
I just agreed with doing the weekend after because of all the activities. But this is a good point. Check your school's calendar. |
After. Halloween parties and such will be the weekend before. |
PP again. APS has parent teacher conferences the week before Halloween, so people may go out of town then too... |
After for sure. There will be lots of Halloween activities prior to Halloween. Now unless your birthday is set in a pumpkin patch or something, then I would say before. |
I have an October 15 birthday kid, and we've always done a Halloween party (her preference). If it's not Halloween-themed, I would do it after Halloween, just because I know people's October weekends get filled up fast with pumpkin patch trips and other outdoor fall activities. |
