| Longtime eyebrow and lip waxer here, decided to try threading. Went to Threads in Bethesda. Quick, easy (much less pain that waxing), and cheaper. No redness afterwards. Will report back on regrowth if anyone interested. |
| I'm interested. Thanks! |
| Where is Threads? |
|
I've been wondering about threading.
Is it suitable for someone with really thick eyebrows? |
| What do they say about wrinkles w/threading? Is it safer than plucking and waxing in terms of getting wrinkles around the eyes? |
I read it is better. Anywhere in Fairfax to get it done? |
|
OP here. There is a Threads in Bethesda on Wisconsin Ave. They also have two downtown DC locations. There is also a place near Dupont Circle--dupont threading, I think.
As for wrinkles, it is supposed to be better for your skin because it doesn't tug at it like waxing. The brows were painless, as was chin (yup, yuck....). Lip still hurt a bit though--lots of nerve endings. I think it would be fine for someone with thick brows to try--it keeps a natural line. I have Brooke Shields brows and they came out looking great, IMHO. For me, I was interested in trying it because I break out after waxing and am aging so am worried about waxing around the eyes. Day 2 I can report NO BREAKOUTS whatsoever. And the price is so much better than waxing--I got my brows, chin and lip done for 29 bucks. I think my brows usually go for that much. FWIW, I am very fair and have mostly peach fuzz on lip and chin and this was no problem for threading. |
Are the hairs on those areas really visible? |
|
They are, and of course are populated by some ugly thick dark ones (these appeared after having kids....). So, that's why I remove them--plucking makes me break out majorly. The peach fuzz is not really an issue except if I wear makeup, and then it seems to stand out more.
