What are your plans during the metro closure this summer? I go to L'Enfant and live near Huntington. I cannot request. I'm cobbling together carpool (not desirable, I'm an introvert and detest traffic) and possibly VRE if I can get to a station. The obvious option is taking shuttle from Huntington to Pentagon and then the metro - an estimated 30 minute addition.
I've honestly thought about renting a room in the city or near a functioning metro stop! (No kids) Would love to hear your plans. |

I am planning to go into work on the days I don't have to do kid pickup or drop-off and shifting my schedule to go in early or late to avoid the worst of rush hour. My boss is thankfully ok with me teleworking a lot more, but I can't telework every day for 3+ months!
I go from Braddock to Archives--so I'm leaning towards taking the Metroway bus to Pentagon City because it's guaranteed to use the bus rapid transit lanes and I'm hoping that will help with minimizing the sitting in traffic piece of things. I could walk to King St and get on VRE, but I'm hoping that the bus/metro combo will be workable. We'll see I guess. |
| I plan to shift my schedule and try to use the shuttles. |
Thanks! Is your estimation that earlier will be better? The first week should be interesting

thanks! Hopefully lighter summer traffic will help rush hour. And I hope there are a lot of people in your situation who will telework and stay off the roads when possible.

| I'd love to see some slug lanes developed in our area, even if it's just for the summer. Meet at a parking lot, get three people and hop in the HOV where possible (e.g. GW parkway). |
