Recent experience with Dr. Footer or Dr. DeSouza??

Just found out I am pregnant- yay yay yay! Trying to find a solo practitioner ( hate the idea of being passed around from doctor to doctor). Any recent experiences with Dr. Footer or Dr. DeSouza? Thanks!!

Is 2 years ago recent? I love Dr. Desouza! I had a wonderful birth and though some of that is biology/luck I fully credit Dr. Desouza with keeping me calm in a higher risk pregnancy, his excellent command of the delivery room and his thoughtful attention during my pregnancy and after my birth. He even called to check in and hear how my preemie was doing a week after birth! I have sent 3 friends to him since and they’ve all loved him as well.

I delivered a year ago with Dr. Footer, and I liked him a lot. He was very warm and reassuring. I only met Dr. DeSouza once, so have limited experience, but I found him to be less warm.

Dr. Footer really listened to my preferences and concerns, took them into account, and made all the right calls at the delivery. i would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

Dr. Footer saw me in the hospital after an unplanned homebirth in 2017. I really liked his demeanor—very calming, considering it was a very, very stressful situation. If I was having another (we’re done) I would change practices to see him, just based on that one experience.

I had a c section with footer in late 2018. He is fantastic. Would deliver with him again 100%

Which footer are you guys talking about? Robert in Bethesda or Richard footer in Bethesda. I think they are father and son.

Dr. Desouza 6.5 years ago. Obviously a while ago, but he was great! I've sent a friend to him too. I recommend him to all!

Check out dr Russell bridges. He is the best dr I have ever had, and his office is a streamlined and efficient place.

It’s nice to hear that some have a good experience with Dr. Footer. That was far from my experience. I delivered at Holy Cross wirh Dr. Footer, but he was not in the room when I delivered. My baby was delivered by a nurse practitioner who I had never met. And this was an induced delivery and he was in the hospital, so timing was known and there were complications. But Dr. Footer couldn’t make it to my delivery room for some reason which was never explained to me. I stayed with the practice for two more years after my delivery and it became apparent to me that he was not particularly interested in gynecology - just obstetrics. He spent less than 15 minutes with me per appointment, was rushed and dismissive. And he seemed to lose interest in me when I said I was done having children. So, don’t go for gynecology and don’t count on him delivering your baby either. I question glowing reviews based on my experience, particularly that he is patient and will listen to you. That was not my experience.

I’m currently with Dr.DeSouza for my first and love him so far. He is very calming which is what I need.
