My almost 2 year old is in bed by 6/6:30, and sleeps for about 12 hours. She also takes a 1.5 hour nap during the day.
But her bedtime seems to be really early, especially now that the days are longer. What time does your 2 year old get to bed? |
My first kid was like yours, in bed by 6:30pm. It may have shifted towards 7pm as she got into her 2nd year a bit. But was firmly pre-7pm for a long time.
My second kid is 2 now and is almost never in bed before 7:30pm. He takes longer, harder naps than his sister ever did though. |
DD, now 2.5, has never, ever, gone to bed before 8, and is now leaning closer to 930. She wakes around 7. She naps about 1.5 hours, and has steadily been reducing this since she turned 2 late Dec.
As many would say: parent the child you have. If they are going to bed that early, sleeping, waking up well, and happy thought the day and napping, etc., don’t change it just to change it. |
Mine is just like yours, OP. |
+1 I have a night owl who goes to bed at 9:30 too, wakes at 7:30 and naps 2-3:30pm. Sometimes he sleeps in in the weekends, but then misses the nap. The bedtime has been impossible to move (we've tried). |
My 20 mo old has been like a moving target...used to reliably go to bed at 7:30 just a few months ago, then it was 8, and now it’s closer to 8:45-9:00! We’ve tried to move it up but he just rolls around and talks in his crib for a long time. He sleeps a little over 10 hours at night and then naps 2-3 hrs at daycare. |
+2 My 2.25 year old is lights out at 8pm, asleep by 8:20 and wakes up at 8 am. Naps are mostly 1.5 hours, but sometimes only 45 minutes, sometimes non-existent. She's a sleep clone of how DH was as a child. |
OP here - thanks everyone ![]() |
Enjoy it while you can!!!!!
I put mine to bed that early at that age too, but I SAH and my spouse was home by 4:30. In the next year your bedtime will creep up to 8 or 8:30 if she's still taking a nap. |
