| Anyone have any anecdotes about the school? |
| Great school, albeit a bit of a commuter school |
| 3 friends graduated from there, all in different fields. All are smart, nice, well-educated people who really enjoyed college. DD is looking at it UW’s PhD program. Lots of $ being invested in STEM/bio med there AFAICT. |
| Great school, great city, TONS of outdoor activities in the surrounding area, beautiful views. Expect your child to fall in love with the west coast and not come back east. |
I went there then came east and never went back. Seattle ain't what it used to be. |
| Have visited friends there. Good school, great location in Seattle. More fratty and sports-obsessed than I expected, as an urban west coast school. But I would happily send my kids there. |
|
I grew up in the PNW and everyone I know who went there loved it.
Not to sideline the thread but I heard it's not good for aid to out of staters. Any chance that's changed? |
| Went there, loved it. Beautiful campus, very competitive for in-state admissions means high quality peer cohort, Microsoft money has led to continual updates to facilities. Would be happy for my kids to go there. |

This is from 2019. So...
Looking for 2022-2024 stories of and from Udub. Any applicants on here this year? How was the process? If your kid is attending now, can you share their experiences on campus or off campus? I know weather 9months out of year is blah if you don't like gray and rain. |
Pros: The other 3-4 is gorgeous! Cons: Far from DC Apartment dwellings with no AC |
Understatement of the decade. DP |
| Campus is gorgeous. Also metro straight from the airport to campus. Strong school spirit, increasingly hard to get into OOS and must pick a major (hard to switch). A friend’s DD with a 4.0 UW, 1520 SAT really wanted to go. Outright rejected last year |
For CS? |
Rejected OOS or as in-state? What major? Friend got in back in the day OOS with stats that def wouldn't get him in today. Story of so many of us on here. |
| Ah, no other U-dub fans, students or alums on here? |
