Recommendations for fitness tracker

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a fitness tracker/running watch combo that is fairly lightweight? The main features I would like are daily step tracking and then a running mode that shows my pace and overall distance. I am a long distance runner and have been wearing my step tracker on one wrist and GPS watch on the other, but both are showing signs of malfunction. Also want to consolidate into one device. I had narrowed it down to the Garmin Vivosport or the Fitbit Charge 2, but the reviews are mixed for both. I like the sleek and compact look of both but it seems to be hard to find what I want in anything less than a larger smart watch. Any recommendations are appreciated!

I know it is probably not what you want, but as a runner, I love my Gramin Vivoactive 3. I wear it as an everyday watch and love all that it does- track activity, sleep, and especially for running.
