So rolling offers based on tryouts.
Club says offers made on rolling basis after 2nd of 3 possible tryouts Offers sent after 1st tryout but do not specify team level Supposed to be 4 teams U9 Is it likely that offers go out in order if teams, fill 1st team and then move on down, Even though offers do not specify team? |
| there are four! teams of U9 and they expect you to agree to pay $2000 without knowing what team your kid will be on? |
Welcome to madness of travel soccer! Yes, they will generally fill the first team and then start on the second and so forth. But you should know which team it is before you accept. You should ask whoever sent the offer. |
| Wow, that strikes me as very strange. Both my kids have played for Alexandria, and offers always specified a team - of course, if another player turned down an offer from a higher team, that offer might later be revised to be for a spot on a higher team, but you always know what initial team the offer is for. |
| I would just ask which team the offer is for. When my daughter played for some of the bigger clubs, coaches would make offers and might assume you know which team they coach. The “invitation” to register might be generic, but you should know which team you are signing up for. |
Clubs do vary, our experience was not similar, definite B team offers simultaneous to A team for some players. |

This sounds like GFR
Said offers to go out after 2nd tryout session Offers seemed to go out before that and ongoing say taking pool order of offers seems indicates teams Hope that helps |
Say one thing and do another ? Surprise |
| If it's McLean beware. They offer top team to too many kids and then bump kids down a team in the fall right before games start or mid-way through the season. I've seen it in multiple age groups both genders |
I think this happens in a lot of clubs. Happened to my son at a MD club a few years ago. |
| McLean had so many girls on their 2008 team some couldn't even player cards for that team. When they were U10 playing 7 vs 7 they had 15 players. More on the bench than in the game |
| I remember Alexandria never said what color you were it simply stated that your child got accepted to Alexandria academy. |
That's terrible to hear and a shame since the 2008 girls are one of the top teams in the state |
When was this? My kids have both played for Alexandria in the past few years, and our offers always specified the team. |
