In case you did not follow how Tesla is doing on the USA market it is a fun read. That explain why we see more and more of them out there every day.
Surprised? Going back a decade.. who would think. "Tesla increased its deliveries by more than 100% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, its previous best quarter in history. In 6 years, its Q3 sales jumped from 321 to 83,500." It's a bit misleading. For example, Audi, which sells a lot less than luxury carmakers like BMW and Mercedes, has about double Tesla's sales in 2019:

I'd say it's a fair comparison. The numbers in your post are very old (September 2018) and pretty bad. Check out the most recent numbers here (April 2019) and 2019 YTD.
