Trying to buy a frim mattress - Saatva?

Anonymous
I am looking to buy a new mattress. It is a confusing market with online added to it. I saw saatva online but it says it costs $99 to return this matress. If you can't even try the mattress before buying, I thought it would be free returns. Does saatva come with low profile boxspring?

Any thoughts about the stearns and foster collection at Macy's. Any recommendations?

I have a Saatva.

Yes it has a low profile box spring. I like a firm mattress and love my Saatva. It does has a type of ‘cushion’ on top but it isn’t a mattress you sink into.

I just had a Loom and Leaf (also made by Saatva, a more luxury version) delivered and last night was the third night sleeping on the mattress. We ordered the relaxed firm (the other option was firm-firm). I am not impressed. It is firmer than I expected and I have always slept on firm mattresses. The first night was pretty painful, unable to sleep well and feeling the pressure points. There is minimal sinking, and I was expecting a bit of a gentle memory foam feel. I'm not quite sure what to think as we spent $1600 on the mattress and I tested in person various mattresses in that range at actual shops that felt better to me.

I've gone online and looked at youtube reviews comparing Saatva's basic Saatva, Loom and Leaf and Zenhaven labels and it may be that we'd have been better off with the basic Saatva and I may send the Loom and Leaf back and get the basic Saatva. Yes, it'll be $100 but I'll also get $500 back.

We have two Saatvas. They're very comfortable if your preference is on the firmer side. Regarding the height, their regular height mattress is just too bulky and thick, and I can't tell any difference in comfort levels. We have one regular height mattress paired with a low profile box spring, and a low mattress paired with a regular box spring. These combos are the highest I would go and they're plenty high enough to change a toddle's clothes on. I'd stay away away from the regular height mattress b/c it's kind of a pain to find fitted sheets that deep.

Do most people use box springs with these matresses?I thought, no?

We just got a Tuft & Needle Mint and after 3 days out of the box it firmed up significantly. Compared to the regular T&M we got for our child, the edges/sides are much more rigid (like a traditional mattress) and it's about 2" taller (10" total). We have it directly on our wooden slatted bedframe, no boxspring.

We got a dream cloud. It was very firm and took over a month for me to get used to sleeping on. My wife still wakes up in pain.
