Reaction to the second shot, but not the first?

Anonymous
I got my DS the H1N1 vax last week, and so far so good (no hives, other reactions, etc.). He is under 2, so he got the shot.

I was wondering - does that mean I am in the clear for the second shot? Has anyone's child had a reaction to the second shot, but not the first?

TIA.

why do you need second shot? wasn't it stated in media that only one shot is needed? so now it is two again?

According to the CDC website, two shots are still recommended for those under 9 years old. (links below) But now where can we get it if the DC clinics are done?? We're due for our second round this week.

Also keep in mind that most other countries use adjuvants, which means their response after 1 dose is higher than ours -- something which likely counted into the WHOs recommendation.
