Natural FET and delays

Anonymous
Hi - I am coming off a retrieval in April and this is my first full cycle. I am being monitored for a natural FET, but my follicles are not growing. I should have ovulated a few days ago, but I have no lead and a few around 8-10. Before IVF I had very regular cycles. Has anyone experienced this and if so, how much longer was your post-retrieval cycle than your standard cycle? Is there anything I can do to move things along? Thanks!!

You’re doing a natural FET or NCIVF?

Natural FET. I went through regular, medicated IVF last month but wasn't allowed to do a fresh transfer due to concerns about overpopulation. Now I am in the process of being monitored for a natural FET.

**over-simulation! not population

Why does follicle growth matter? Aren’t they just watching your lining and hormone levels? Why are you doing a natural FET and not mediated?

You could still be slightly suppressed from the ivf cycle. My cycles always took a bit to resume their usual regularity

No, you have to ovulate before they'll do the transfer, and they want the follicles to be a certain size (18). I'm doing a natural because I've never had any issues with ovulation in the past and this is what my RE recommended. No issues until now, that is!

Thanks so much. By any chance, do you recall about how long your cycles were after retrieval? Like longer than normal by a few days, or was it weeks?

Mine were normal. I think it's just normal variation.

It was 7-10 days delayed...cycle was a bust so stopped all meds at 5 dpo, af came 12 dpo (normally 14 dpo). Then the next cycle I ovulated cd 20 (normally cd 10-14).

Very similar thing happened to me, and my RE gave us the option to wait it out or cancel if the frequent monitoring was getting to be too much. We decided to keep going, and I ended up ovulating around cycle day 22 (they triggered me when the lead follicle and lining were both measuring appropriately). One week later, we were able to proceed with an FET.
