| Not directly soccer related, but what the heck. A parent of one of my daughter's teammates loves to take photo and many of them are great, but........does she have to tag me all over the place? At first he would just put them in a online album and send out the link but then he friended me, that's when he tagged me in every damn soccer photo. Well, after a season I now get tagged every time there is an EPL game or something he thinks is funny. How do I tell him to stop? I'm not active on FB, just like to keep in touch with friends and family. I'm assuming other families are annoyed too based on some interesting comments. |
Perhaps suggest that he set up a private Facebook team page instead? Then all stuff can go there? It might be able to confine it some. |
| Unfriend him, he will not be able to tag you. He did not "friend you" magically, you had to approve it. |
| Isn’t there a setting where you can control other people tagging you? |
+1 |
You are a genius! I know I can unfriend him, but I have to see him 3-5 times a week and trying to make things awkward. You must be a military strategist, Captain Obvious. |
You can set your settings to approve tags before they show up on your FB feed. |
You can set them so that only you see posts you are tagged in, none of your friends (who aren't common friends). |
| Why can't you just nicely ask him to stop tagging you? Say something along the lines of "Hey, I enjoy being friends with you on facebook and seeing all these great pictures of the team, but would it be possible not to tag me? I'm not too active on facebook and I'd prefer just to look at the pictures and not be tagged. I do appreciate you taking the team pictures, though, they are great!" |
| Learn to use your FB settings OP. It's really not hard. |
Ahhh, OP's true colors. Being tagged is the least of his/her social issues. |
| Why not just say: Hey, thanks for tagging me but you don't need to? They might feel weird posting pictures of your kid and not tagging you, and it's their way of getting permission but also allowing you access to your kid's pictures if you want them. |
Hmm, I'm the OP and I didn't post that. |
One of the resident forum trolls. Misery loves company. They just can’t help themselves! |
| Can someone explain to me the issue with tagging? I hate fb but have to have it now for my kids sports team. Is this something I should avoid doing? |
