We already knew that's why the Weekly Standard closed.
But it's nice to see it put clearly in print: The conservative media would not exist if not for money from rightwing billionaires. The billionaires control the coverage. From Murdoch to Mercer to Anschutz (the Weekly Standard guy) to the Koches. The whole conservative movement --- the whole Republican party --- is a fraud propped up by billionaires. ------------------ Quote is from an article by a real conservative and someone who once was the most prominent Republican thinker -- at the top of the conservative heap as the WSJ Opinion page editor. Even he (Max Boot) has now been cast out by the sycophants and tools of billionaires that make up the GOP.
It's worth reading the whole article, about why money makes conservatives want to defend Trump. The whole conservative movement is about grifters and profit. Conservatives can't get real jobs because everyone with a brain knows their ideas are bad -- they can only get jobs in the conservative lie bubble. That's why they've all fallen in line behind Trump, because that's what the Republican billionaire donor class wants. |
There are many neoconservative NeverTrumpers. It’s unclear what their day to day jobs are, other than to tweet relentlessly. |
Exactly. Their billionaire funding has dried up. So they have no job. Conservative jobs exist only because of the donors -- it's not like there's actual real institutions or real media outlets that would hire many conservatives. |
Obviously...see CNN's April ratings. Lol. |
Are you trying to illustrate the above point about the level of conservative and liberal intellectual firepower by dropping this non sequitur? |
Max Boot expands in a tweet:
|
Work with me here: see the part of the sentence I emboldened? I am making a direct correlation between a media outlet's viewership numbers and the fact they only hire NeverTrumper Republicans and call them their Republicans. It is ridiculous to watch the tailspin of a once young and fresh media outlet turn into the country's foremost purveyors of Russian Collusion and TDS. Don't forget: it is only going to get worse. The next gen doesn't even watch tv news. Obviously, CNN doesn't care about ratings. |
I fully expect many, if not most, NeverTrumper neocons (and related NeverTrumper mainstream Republicans) to endorse the Biden-Harris ticket. |
I hope the Democrats can do better than that or I might have to vote for you know who. No, I don't care about who is picked for VP. |
LOL yes all two of them. Why do you think there are all these NeverTrumpers around? |
Hi. Raises hand. I don’t know about how quantity. But we are here. Required quote: “There are dozens of us. Dozens!” People pretend we don’t exist. Remember the other day there was a thread about “moderates don’t exist.” Ha ha that was funny, and everyone on the thread laughed with me. Don’t exist? Or don’t exist in enough numbers? Or don’t exist in the pockets of very specific 1%ers who are like generals overlooking the battlefield, while media personalities they hire are like the sergeants. And the American people are all the soldier pawns. |
We have sergeants and a small, steady, dedicated number of pawns. But no generals. And we don’t know who we’re fighting. Both sides? |
Of course they exist: see Egg McMuffin or whatever and his vote tally. |
I’m responding to : “The whole conservative movement --- the whole Republican party --- is a fraud propped up by billionaires.“ We need to define conservatives and republicans separately now. Many of us have been for a while |
OK, so who are these non-Trumpite conservatives you're talking about? Because they're not at the National Review. They're not at AEI. They're not at Heritage. They're not at Fox. They're not in the Koch donor network. They're not in the Congress. They're not in the RNC. They're not in the White House. They're not in the Federalist Society. They're not in the judicial system. Pray tell - where are the non-Trump-loving conservatives? Stephen Moore is the latest example of a conservative willing all along to embrace racism to support the donors. |
