We applied to the contractor for our neighborhood pool in December, went to an info session in February, were offered a contract in March, took a lifeguard class in April and still need a work permit.

There is yearly training at our (summer) pool. Not sure if you have to be a member or not, but it wouldn’t hurt to call around to different pools and check.
