| If you switched from car without one to a car with panoramic roof how do you feel about it. Is the car with panoramic roof hotter in summer on a sunny day? Does it take long to cool down. Would you buy again a car with panoramic sunroof or would you go beck to one without? |
| Honestly, I’m not a fan of sunroofs. They are a source of heat in sunny weather and when I’m driving I feel like the sun is coming at me from yet another direction and I need a hat to block it from getting behind my sunglasses. DH loves the stupid things though and they seem to be included on the mid-level trim and up |
| Our Audi (station wagon) has it. It also has an automatic cover to block the sun, so it's easy to block if it's too sunny outside. It's nice at night for sure, and on days that aren't too hot. |
So you are saying that on the hot days it is not nice? Summers are really hot here. |
|
I had one & it made the car hotter, even with the shade closed. I also read that the larger glass panels are more prone to shattering/exploding. I much prefer the normal sized one in my current car.

| I have one and like it. It has a shade when needed. I think it makes the car feel bigger/less claustrophobic. I rarely open the sunroof though. |
| We have one and use it all the time. It has a shade that we keep closed if it's a hot sunny day and the sunroof isn't open. I wouldn't want a car without one. |
|
I don't like it, but all the cars I like come with one standard so we have two cars with sunroofs.
I do think it makes it a little hotter but there's not a hot spot near the roof with the shade closed; having the shade open feels uncomfortably bright and hot. I never open the glass because I park outside -- don't want tree bits and bugs that might be on the roof, to fall inside. |

I did not realize that the small sunroof is so popular. I would think everybody wented Panoramic roof and that it is a progress.
Apparently when you look online, for cars that come with either small sunroof that is only above the front row (driver, front passenger) or a big all glass panoramic sunroof, there is more cars for sale with the small one then with the big ones. I checked few different US brands and few different models and it was very consistent. Way more small ones. Apparently people must prefer the small ones then the big ones but judging by what most people say it is clear that there is a vey little benefit of having all glass roof to something that gets light in if needed, opens up but is less prone to cracking, does not overheat the car's interior and will have smaller chance for leaking which problem seems to be rampant in case of panoramic roofs. Fascinating. |

This is unexpected.. seriously? another thing to worry about?

Don't sunroofs steal some of the space above your head, which can be an issue if you are taller. Also check if they affect safety performance in a crash.
They are also prone to leaking. I opted not to get one. If I were to use one, I'd have to wear a hat in the car. My husband has a smaller sunroof and never uses it |
| We have a sunroof that we never use. Wouldn't have chosen it (it came with the model). |
Ever since I started looking into the panoramic sunroof issue I spoke with few people who have them and most of them do not use, do not like and would not buy again. It is so funny. I guess it is mostly people who don't have them want them badly, and once they have they are not happy with them. Nothing but problems and not so much fun since they don't often "use the equipment" having it covered with the shade. Just like an average marriage, at first it is all about the use of the equipment and then it does not get used at all and then there are the problems with aging equipment and the ownership satisfaction goes down.

Surprisingly enough! Yes, you are totally right. I did not even think about it but you are right. the headroom is so much smaller all over the interior because of the padding and all that junk. |
| I enjoy it some days, keep the shade closed on others. At times I do prefer to air out the car through the top rather than the sides. |
