She has two recent grads. That'll be true of Evans too. Mandel has never had kids in MCPS. |
+1 I love the way they handled the Biedelman situation and negotiating for McKnight’s exit. We need more of that which is why I’m voting straight apple ballot |
Smondrowski also led the effort to oust McKnight. Evans and Wolf defended McKnight and Harris was wishy washy. |
Didn't realize that Mandel and Evans are the only ones running in District 4 who currently have school-aged children. |
Weak troll |

That is my thinking as well. |
Thanks, ok, crossing him off my list. Still trying to figure out whom to support in that race. |
Stewart seems too inexperienced for the job in my mind. I don't love voting for any incumbent for BOE right now, but I'm leaning toward voting for Shebra Evans over Laura Stewart. Laura has done good work for her kids' PTA in the past, but I think she will be in over her head and get steam-rolled by mcps admins. She also reminds me too much of Lynne Harris - someone who says a lot of stuff that resonates with me as a progressive minded liberal, but very lacking in action and substance when it counts. |
Hilarious. |
You like the $1mln+ payout that McKnight received? That money could have been spent on students instead. If they had the guts to fire her for cause instead of negotiating a golden parachute deal. |
of course. |
PP, read post above yours in a sarcastic tone. DP |
They did the best they could when dealt a bad hand. As one would expect from the apple ballot slate. Which is why I’m taking their recommendations 100% this time too. Great track record |
Laura Stewart could not even shift the culture of the MCCPTA, where she was very active. Like many others, she got comfortable with her proximity and access to power and started to tow the party line rather than holding the school system and the board accountable for its failures. |
