Weekend in Chicago with my mom

Anonymous
My mother and I are spending the first weekend of December in Chicago, where I have never been. Does anyone have any recommendations about wonderful things for us to do? I am thinking museums, shows, architectural tours, high tea, etc. We are staying at a hotel in Lincoln Park (in part to see a show that my brother-in-law is in). Thanks so much!

Chicago is one of my most favorite places!!! It is such a great city. Bundle up though, it will be cold!!

I agree with PP. LOVE high tea @ The Drake. We spent Christmas there a few years ago-it was a wonderful experience.

We have also stayed at the Palmer House. It was so nice.
Hot Chocolate on N. Damen is SO yummy!!
Deep Dish Pizza @ Uno's,Lou Malnatis or Pizzeria Deux.
We had brunch at the Signature Room the last time instead of dinner. It was a nice experience but I prefer dinner.
Shopping on Michigan is a great time! Dh and I have breakfast. He then finds other things to do. I return late in the day!

My sister and I visited Bliss Spa @ the W. We were staying @ the W (discounts!!!!)and really enjoyed ourselves after shopping all day!

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Thanks so much, all! I really appreciate your recommendations. Has anyone seen the Colleen Moore dollhouse at the Museum of Science and Industry? I have never seen it in person, but had a wonderful book about it as a child and am intrigued.
