Quick question. My kid is in 1st year AAP (3rd grade). Grades are pretty decent and teachers speak good of her as well. Does she have to go through a re-evaluation process to continue as a full time AAP 4th grader or is she automatically in unless we hear otherwise from the school?
Thanks! |
Auto in.
Once in you're in through 8th grade unless you specifically opt out.
It's difficult if not impossible to get booted out of AAP.
It is impossible to get kicked out of AAP. You can be pressured to withdraw your child from AAP, but you still maintain eligibility through 8th grade. Even if your child fails all of the SOLs, they can't kick the kid out.
That answers above all assume that your child was found eligible by the central selection committee and not principal placed at your local school.
