DD is going to ay camp. Are natives the best shoe or something else? Does she need real sneakers? I love natives but DD sometimes complains if dirt/sticks/sand get I them. She is 4. Should I post this someplace else? |
I just prefer shoes for my DS if he's out running around all day. But every kid is different. |
Keens with socks. Or Plae. |
Sneakers |
If she’s strictly playing outside and not getting wet, I’d stick with sneakers and socks. If you need something that can also get wet, then there are a few options like Natives (there was just another post about Natives with some other options). |
Thank you. |
I do Keen’s (or knockoff Keens) and it’s always worked well. |
Natives aren’t great for day camp. They’re sticky, slippery, and get stuff in them. |
Another vote for Keens - it's what my kids wear to Valley Mill! |
Keens or sneakers. |
Is this a sleepaway camp? If so, I'd just do whatever is on their packing list. They probably need a Keen, or Keen like shoe plus a pair of sneakers or 2 pairs of sneakers so one can dry out. |
P.S. Costco usually sells a Keen knock off called Khombu around this time that is around $15 and is good quality. They sell out pretty fast in the popular sizes. I don't see them online yet but in the past they have had them in stores in girls, boys, mens and womens sizes. You may also be able to get them on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Khombu-Kids-Athletic-Active-Sandals/dp/B07CND6J2V/ref=sr_1_1?crid=NGH0NHS29IZF&keywords=khombu+boys+sandals+size+4&qid=1555763027&s=gateway&sprefix=khombu+boys+sandals%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-1 |
