Something to wear on the head after swimming pool class in winter for a kid.

Once I saw some girl wearing some neafty hat that she was wearing on the wet hair in winter coming back with mom from the pool. It was something warm and cozy to keep wet hair and head protected in the sub zero temps as they clearly headed straight home.
Can any one suggest anything like that, where to buy and what is that called. It was not any normal hat nor a swim cap. It was something special for after swimming.
